Fry up some tasty lumpia - chicken or veggie - for your dinner! Clarisse is sharing her mom's beloved Filipino recipe. What is lumpia? Lumpia are cousins to spring rolls, likely goes back Chinese traders who visited the Philippines in the 9th century. You'll try your hand at wrapping spring rolls and eat your experiment!

Required ingredients:
1 16oz package of ground chicken (optional - replaceable with turkey, pork, shrimp, or ground tofu)
1-2 16oz package of egg roll/spring roll wrappers
1 small or medium yellow onion
2 celery stalks
1 medium carrot
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 8oz can of sliced water chestnuts (optional)
1 egg (optional)
Salt or seasoning salt
Ground black pepper
garlic powder (optional)
onion powder (optional)
Vegetable oil for frying

For sealing the lumpia:
1) 1 egg or 2) flour + warm water

You can purchase grated carrots, cabbage, or a blend of veggies at your local grocer. If not, please have a grater ready.

*All attendee can be reimbursed up to $10 for supplies and materials. Be sure to save your itemized receipt that has the purchaser’s name printed (i.e. ask for a printed receipt whenever you can). Items purchased after this event will not be reimbursed. Reimbursement form will be sent after the workshop.
