CALIFORNIA REDISTRICTS AND REAPPORTIONS
The global pandemic has delayed the arrival of the census data required for redistricting every ten years. By April the relevant data will be released and the second California Citizens Redistricting Commission will go to work and confront the potential loss of a congressional seat, changes to the Voting Rights Act, and new rules governing how incarcerated individuals will be geographically assigned, among other issues. Its decisions will affect state politics for at least the next decade.
