Since 1981, UC Berkeley has recognized the most promising photographers on campus with the Dorothea Lange Fellowship, awarded to a graduate student or faculty member for outstanding work in documentary photography. Logan Professor of Photojournalism Ken Light was the first person from Berkeley Journalism to receive this prestigious campus award— established by Lange's husband, Berkeley economics professor Paul Taylor—in 1987. Since then, 20 Berkeley Journalism students have been named fellows. The scope and beauty of the winning work has been extraordinary. Join us Monday, February 22, 2021 for a very special Arts + Design look at some of the winning pictures and hear the backstory of the images from the photographers themselves.
Presented by the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
