Topic
Leveraging CalAIM in Permanent Supportive Housing
Date & Time
Selected Sessions:
Apr 22, 2025 10:00 AM
Description
California’s CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) initiative allows housing providers to use Medi-Cal funding to cover housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness. Because of this, CalAIM could help overcome funding shortfalls and allow operators of permanent supportive housing to expand their services and provide person-centered care to their residents.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview of some of the challenges housing providers face in integrating CalAIM funding into their properties, as well as highlight models and partnerships that are successfully leveraging CalAIM to improve outcomes for their residents.
Tessa Nápoles, Postdoctoral Scholar at the Terner Center, will present research findings.
Speakers will include:
- Swamini Bajpai, CalAIM Strategy and Operations Consultant
- Kris Kuntz, Program Director of Housing and Homeless Strategy, Anthem Blue Cross California Medicaid
- Frank Lopez, Senior Program Manager, Jamboree Housing Corporation
- Danielle McCluskey, Senior Director of Resident Services, MidPen Housing
Carolina Reid, Faculty Research Advisor at the Terner Center, will moderate the discussion.
This webinar is made possible through generous support from the California Health Care Foundation.
It is the second in two webinars focused on opportunities to strengthen supportive services provided to people exiting homelessness—specifically, recent state policies that could unlock more resources for permanent supportive housing. The first webinar, "Integrating Housing and Behavioral Health Services through Homekey+" was held on March 26. See the recording: https://ow.ly/kPIo50VsNUQ
