Description
Affordable housing governance—or the system that regulates, incentivizes, and funds affordable housing—plays a critical role in shaping the delivery of affordable housing. How states approach the governance of their affordable housing finance systems affects their ability to efficiently allocate resources, align policy goals, and make maximum use of public resources. This webinar will include a research presentation on how select states across the country have approached the governance of their affordable housing finance systems. The webinar will also spotlight the different approaches that states have taken to streamline the funding award process and highlight state-level reforms to consolidate housing functions, reduce administrative inefficiencies, and coordinate policy goals across agencies. Jenna Davis, Postdoctoral Scholar at the Terner Center, will present new research. Speakers will include: - Jill Cromartie, Consultant, Simple Asset Management (Moderator) - Natasha Detweiler-Daby, Director of Affordable Rental Housing, Oregon Housing and Community Services - Mary Tingerthal, former Commissioner, Minnesota Housing (2011 - 2019) - RuthAnne Visnauskas, Commissioner and CEO, New York State Homes and Community Renewal in New York This webinar is made possible through support from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
